GRAND CHUTE, WI - Richard Castillo pitched seven shutout innings to lead the Quad Cities River Bandits to a 4-0 win Saturday night over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Saturday night on Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Tommy Pham and Domnit Bolivar both homered to provide most of the River Bandit offense. But, it was Castillo's night as he allowed three hits, walked two, hit one, and struck out eight over his seven innings for his seventh win of the season.

Quad Cities (31-30 second half, 64-61 overall) got the early lead as they loaded the bases with one out on a hit batsman, a single, and a walk. Roberto Espinoza sent a fly ball deep enough to left-center to score the run from third for the 1-0 lead.

Bolivar hit a fly ball to left with one out in the top of the fourth inning that was deep enough to leave the ballpark. Bolivar's sixth homer of the season put the River Bandits up 2-0.

Quad Cities used the long ball to go up 4-0 in the top of the fifth inning. Pham's two-run shot to right was his seventeenth home run of the season.

Wisconsin (21-40, 52-75) had their best opportunity to score against Castillo in the bottom of the seventh inning. Edilio Colina, who had three of the five Wisconsin hits in the game, doubled to start the frame and Joe Dunigan drew a walk to put runners at first and second with no outs. But, Castillo got Alex Liddi to ground into a double play. Castillo got the final out on a Joe White ground out.

Jared Bradford pitched the final two innings for Quad Cities. He allowed three hits, but kept the shutout intact with four strikeouts.

Saturday's loss marked the first time Wisconsin was shutout at home since May 18 when Kane County beat the Rattlers 4-0.

The final game of the four game series is Sunday afternoon. Juan Ramirez (5-9, 4.40) is the scheduled starter for the Timber Rattlers. Deryk Hooker (0-1, 1.69) is set to start for the River Bandits. Game time is 1:05pm.
