Castellani's Complete Gem Beats Giants 4-1

Modesto, CA. - Ryan Castellani spun the Modesto Nuts' third complete game of the season in a 4-1 win over the San Jose Giants at John Thurman Field on Saturday night.

Castellani (W, 5-8) allowed just four hits and one run while striking out six for the Nuts (15-21; 41-56). The lone run he surrendered to the Giants (16-20; 55-51) was on a RBI groundout by Jonah Arenado in the fourth. Castellani struck out six and walked two setting up a chance to win the series in the finale of the four-game set on Sunday night.

Early on, the Nuts jumped out to a lead. Omar Carrizales plated Wes Rogers with a sacrifice fly in the first. Emerson Jimenez drove in a run in the second with an infield single. He and Max White executed a double steal to cap the two-run second with White stealing home. Overall, the Nuts went 4-for-5 in stolen base attempts. Dom Nunez scored the Nuts' final run when he crossed home on a wild pitch in the fourth after reaching on a leadoff single.

Jose Morel (L, 2-5) went just four innings with five strikeouts and five walks while giving up four hits and all four runs.
