December 19, 2013 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Port Huron Fighting Falcons News Release
PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons, proud members of the North American Hockey League, host a weekend series with the Soo Eagles this Friday and Saturday night at McMorran Arena in downtown Port Huron. Each game starts at 7 p.m.
ÃâÃÂ
Cash giveaways highlight the weekend, as "Jackpot Friday" will send one lucky fan home with $1 per person in attendance. The Chuck-a-Puck prize is over $500 and growing as well, and could be won at any time.
ÃâÃÂ
Saturday night, the Fighting Falcons are offering a free walk-up ticket to any (1) child 12 & under with a paid adult.
ÃâÃÂ
The Fighting Falcons, who are 3-0-1 against the Soo this season, are looking to get back on track after dropping two of three games at home last week.
ÃâÃÂ
This weekend's series marks the first matchups between these two teams since early November, when the Fighting Falcons swept a home series with the Eagles to kick off a four-game winning streak.
ÃâÃÂ
Port Huron has outscored the Soo 11-7 in four games between the teams so far this season, including a 3-0 shutout on November 8.
ÃâÃÂ
Zach Badalamenti (4 G) and Logan Lambdin (1G, 3A) lead the way with four points apiece against the Eagles this season. Darren Brady (1G, 2 A) leads the Eagles with three points in just two games against the Fighting Falcons.
ÃâÃÂ
Despite recent struggles, the Fighting Falcons continue to lead the NAHL's North Division with 40 points and a 17-6-6 record. Port Huron is the NAHL's highest scoring team at 3.41 goals per game. They are two points shy of league leading Fairbanks in the overall standings, and are tied with the Minnesota Wilderness for the fewest regulation losses (6) in the league this season.
ÃâÃÂ
Friday's game marks the end of the first half of the 2013-14 season in Port Huron's 30th game. Saturday is an opportunity to get off to a hot start in the second half of the season.
ÃâÃÂ
The Eagles weekend road trip begins tonight, when they face off with the Michigan Warriors in Flint, looking for a sweep of their three-game series. A win would bring the Soo into a tie with Janesville for fifth place in the North Division.
ÃâÃÂ
Tickets to any Fighting Falcons home game are available at the McMorran Arena Box Office, starting at just $7 for seniors, students and military. For more information, call the team's front office at (810) 966-3800.
