Casey Golden Breaks up No-Hitter for Yard Goats in 9th

Hartford, CT - Yard Goats outfielder Casey Golden broke up a combined no-hit bid with a one-out single in the ninth inning as Hartford fell to Binghamton 6-0 on Saturday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford. Three Binghamton pitchers combined to no-hit the Yard Goats over the first eight innings before Golden laced a hard single into left field with one-out in the ninth inning. Starter Cole Gordon worked the first five innings and relievers Tommy Wilson and Eric Orze each pitched two innings of the gem.

The game was scoreless over the first six innings. Yard Goats starting pitcher Matt Dennis pitched the first five innings and had three strikeouts.

Binghamton scored the first game in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Carlos Cortes, scoring Matt Winaker who led off with a triple. The Rumble Ponies added two runs in the eighth on a two-run homer by Carlos Rincon to make it 3-0.

The Rumble Ponies scored three times in the ninth inning highlighted by a two-run homer by Brett Bady. The Mets top pick gave Binghamton a 5-0 lead with his second home run of the season. Later in the inning, Carlos Rincon tripled home Mark Vientos, giving the Rumble Ponies a 6-0 lead.

The Yard Goats conclude their six-game series against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies on Sunday evening at 6:05 PM at Dunkin' Donuts Park.
