
Carruth Returned, Wintoneak Waived

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs announced Monday that the IceHogs have reassigned goaltender Mac Carruth to the Fuel. Additionally Indy has waived forward Walker Wintoneak.
The 23-year-old Carruth was recalled by the IceHogs on Friday afternoon, and made a relief appearance in Rockford's 7-0 road loss to the Stockton Thunder Saturday night. The 6-foot-3, 182-pound netminder stopped 14 of 17 shots faced in 45 minutes of game time. Over parts of three seasons, Carruth has logged 11 games with the IceHogs, owning a 4-3-1 record while picking up one shutout. A native of Jackson, Wyo. and a 2010 seventh-round (No. 191 overall) by the Blackhawks, Carruth posted a 17-13-2-5 record with a 1.45 goals against average and a .951 save percentage in 39 games with the Fuel last season.
With Carruth's addition and Wintoneak's release, Indy's training camp roster sits at 14 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders. The Fuel will open their 2015-16 ECHL season this Friday night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum when they take on the Toledo Walleye. Fans can arrive early to take in a pregame Fan Fest beginning at 5 p.m., featuring live music from the Hunter Smith Band, face painters, giveaways and much more. All fans in attendance on Friday will also receive a free Indy Fuel rally towel.
In 2015-16, the Indy Fuel drop the puck on their second season in the ECHL.
