Colorado Eagles News Release
Windsor, CO. - The Colorado Eagles announced Monday that they have agreed to terms with forward Drayson Bowman for the 2015-16 season. A veteran of 180 NHL games with the Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens, the 6-foot, 195-pound winger has posted 15 goals and 18 assists in six seasons in the National Hockey League. A former third-round draft pick of the Hurricanes in 2007, Bowman has played in 428 professional contests, registering 85 goals and 91 assists.
"Bringing in a player of Drayson's quality will have a huge impact on this hockey club," said Eagles head coach and general manager Chris Stewart. "His track record speaks for itself and we are thrilled to welcome him to the Colorado Eagles."
The Grand Rapids, Michigan native is the older brother of current Eagles defenseman Collin Bowman, as the pair will now be playing on the same team for the first time in their respective careers. In addition to the 26 year-old's time in the NHL, Bowman has also competed in 248 AHL contests, registering 70 goals and 73 assists.
"I'm very excited, it will be great to play with Collin, we've never had the chance to do that before," said Bowman. "Collin's had nothing but great things to say about this organization, how well they treat you and the atmosphere that they create, I'm just excited to be here."
Prior to making his NHL debut in 2009, Bowman spent four seasons in the WHL with the Spokane Chiefs and helped the team capture a WHL Championship and a Memorial Cup Championship in 2008. He would go on to be named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team and the WHL West second All-Star Team that same season. Bowman would be named to the WHL West second All-Star Team again in 2009.
The 2015-16 regular season home schedule kicks off on Friday, October 16th when the Eagles host the Utah Grizzlies. A complete schedule can be found at www.ColoradoEagles.com.
Season tickets for the 2015-16 season are on-sale now and can be reserved with a $50 deposit per seat by calling the Eagles ticket office at 970-686-SHOT (7468).
