North Carolina FC News Release
Cary, NC (January 20, 2015) - The Carolina RailHawks and the North American Soccer League announced today the Fall 2015 Season schedule. The announcement completes the 2015 NASL Regular Season schedule. The Spring Season will see each of the 11 NASL clubs play a 10-game schedule consisting of five home games and five away games. In the Fall Season, the RailHawks will play a 20-game schedule that will consist of a home-and-away series with each NASL club.
"We are thrilled with our 2015 schedule and are excited to now set our sites on our afternoon home and league opener on April 4th," said RailHawks President Curt Johnson. "Our organization is working hard to make 2015 another memorable one for North Carolina's soccer fans."
The league format will continue to operate the same way it did last year. Playoff participants will be comprised of the winners of each season, plus the two teams with the best overall records over the course of both seasons. The winners of the Spring and Fall seasons will host the semifinals, with the top overall points leader getting the top seed.
The RailHawks roster currently consists of 11 players; one goalkeeper (Hunter Gilstrap), three defenders (Conor Tobin, Daniel Scott and Austen King), four midfielders (Nazmi Albadawi, Tiyi Shipalane and Leo Osaki and Neil Hlavaty) and three forwards (Nacho Novo, Daniel Jackson and Simone Bracalello). The RailHawks are expected to announce additional players in the coming days.
In addition to a very talented RailHawks roster, NASL teams across the country and Canada continue to sign and attract exciting players such as former Real Madrid & Spanish national team forward Raúl (New York Cosmos), current U.S. Men's National Team player Miguel Ibarra (Minnesota United), Jacksonville Armada FC and former Colorado Rapids forward Jaime CastrillÃ"n, former Carolina RailHawks and New York Red Bulls midfielder Jonny Steele as well as former RailHawks & NASL Golden Boot Winner Brian Shriver (Tampa Bay Rowdies), in addition to many others.
