San Antonio Scorpions News Release

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Tuesday, January 20, 2014) - The San Antonio Scorpions released the Fall Season portion of their 2015 NASL schedule this morning. The Scorpions open the second half of the year on the road against FC Edmonton on July 5 and the first Fall Season fixture at Toyota Field will be the following week on July 11 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

"It's a competitive schedule, reflecting the strength of the league and includes some marquee match-ups in the final weeks before the postseason that will hopefully have playoff implications and will create excitement for our fans," said Head Coach Alen Marcina. "From ownership, to stadiums, media attention and the addition of Jacksonville, the NASL has strengthened significantly in the offseason and I personally think it's fantastic for the growth of our league. As for us, we are establishing our short term goals, we're very focused on defending our NASL record-setting championship, we are building the culture of our club and we are dedicated to the long-term project here in San Antonio."

The Alamo City side will host Edmonton on July 15 in the first of two mid-week games during the fall and then will face 2014 NASL Spring Season winners Minnesota United on July 25 at Toyota Field. After a bye the following week, the Scorpions will play their lone home match during the month of August against 2015 expansion team Jacksonville Armada FC.

September will be a busy month at Toyota Field as the Scorpions play four home matches against Ottawa Fury FC, the Carolina RailHawks, Indy Eleven and the Atlanta Silverbacks. The stretch run in October will see the NASL's record-holders for consecutive road wins play four of five games on the road with the final home match of the year on October 24 against the New York Cosmos and the regular season finale in Minnesota against the Loons on Halloween.
