NASL Announces 2015 Fall Schedule

Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Tuesday, January 20, 2015) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers will begin the 2015 Fall Season on the road in Cary, NC, facing the RailHawks on Wednesday, July 8, before returning to Fort Lauderdale to begin home play against FC Edmonton on July 11.
The Strikers will play a 20-game Fall Season, playing each opponent once at home and once away.
The team's home fixtures include (all games played Saturday at 7:30 p.m. unless noted otherwise):
- FC Edmonton - July 11
- Atlanta Silverbacks - July 18
- New York Cosmos - August 8
- Tampa Bay Rowdies - August 15
- Indy Eleven - August 29
- Jacksonville Armada - September 16 (Wednesday)
- Ottawa Fury - September 19
- Minnesota United - September 26
- Carolina RailHawks - October 17
- San Antonio Scorpions - October 21 (Wednesday)
"The 20-game Fall Season really gives us a chance to see the toughness and determination of our team," head coach Marcelo Neveleff said. "I fully expect our team to be hard-working, gritty and to fight and compete for the Championship."
The league will operate under the exact same competition format as last year, with the Spring Season Champion and Fall Season Champion accounting for the top two seeds in the postseason. For the teams that did not capture either the Spring or Fall title, the remaining two postseason spots will go to the sides that accumulated the most combined points over the course of the Spring and Fall Seasons.
"I can't wait for the start of the 2015 Fall Season, opening with Fourth of July fireworks and ending with a bang in early November," NASL Commissioner Bill Peterson said. "The last two fall seasons have gone down to the wire, and I suspect it won't be any different in 2015."
