Wichita Wind Surge News Release
Wichita, KS - The Springfield Cardinals hit back-to-back home runs in the third and scored runs in three of the first four innings to defeat the Wind Surge 9-1. The Cardinals even the series at two games each on Friday night.
Kenny Hernandez earned the win and pitched five innings for Springfield. He allowed one run on four hits, struck out eight and walked one. Chad Donato started and allowed six runs in the loss for the Surge.
Springfield sent seven batters in the first and hit two RBI singles to open the scoring. They extended their lead by hitting two solo home runs in the third. The Surge answered with their lone run of the game on an RBI double from Jake Rucker.
The Cardinals drove in two more runs in the fourth. Springfield added their final three runs of the game in the eighth.
NOTES -Brooks Lee has a hit in 15 of the 18 games he's started this season. Wind Surge adjusted a game time in May, Saturday May 20th will be a 6:05 start.
UPCOMING - The Wind Surge will play against the Springfield Cardinals in game five tomorrow at 2:05 p.m. in their six-game series with Springfield. The Wind Surge will start RH Carols Luna against the Cardinals RH Logan Gragg.
