North Little Rock, AR - Three Springfield Cardinals pitchers led by six innings from Andre Pallante combined on a two-hit shutout of the Arkansas Travelers in a 9-0 win on Tuesday night. Working the first six innings, Pallante limited the Travs to only one hit and two walks while striking out four while picking up his fourth win of the season. Corey Thompson (2 IP) and Newport native Grant Black (IP) closed out the shutout for the Cardinals. Alejandro Requena started and took the loss for the Travs giving up eight runs (six earned) on eight hits over five-plus innings.
Moments That Mattered
* Springfield's Matt Koperniak, making his Double-A debut, opened the scoring with an RBI double to right-center in the second inning.
* The Cardinals put the game away with a four run top of the sixth that included just two hits but also a throwing error and a hit batsman as well as three fielder's choices that scored runs.

The series continues on Wednesday night with right-hander Emerson Hancock, the sixth overall pick in last year's draft making his Double-A debut as the Travs starter following his promotion from High-A Everett. He will be opposed by lefty Domingo Robles (2-6, 5.82). First pitch is at 7:10 and it is the Dog Days of Summer with $1 hot dogs and $3 GA tickets when you bring your dog.
