Lake County Captains News Release

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will host the 100th birthday party for Emily Serian tomorrow evening, May 9 at Classic Park. Emily turns 100-years-young tomorrow and will be celebrating by throwing out a ceremonial first pitch. Captains fans will also have the opportunity to sing "Happy Birthday" to her while she is on the field during pre-game ceremonies.

Emily was born and raised in Punxsutawney, PA and now resides in Middlefield and has been a lifelong Indians fan. She had the privilege of attending the 1948 World Series, traveling from Pennsylvania. Whether it's attending games, watching on television or listening on radio, she rarely misses a game. She grew up with 18 brothers and sisters and baseball was a large part of that upbringing. Emily attended a Captains game to celebrate her 90th birthday in 2003.

The year Emily was born also saw the birth of Fenway Park in Boston, Crosley Field in Cincinnati and Navin Field in Detroit which would later become Tiger Stadium.

Full season tickets plans, 7-, 12-, 20-, and 35-game mini ticket plans for the 2012 season are on sale now at great prices.
