
Captains Begin Seven-Game Home Stand Wednesday With a 100th Birthday Bash

(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains, class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will begin a seven-game home stand on Wednesday as the Dayton Dragons (Reds) and Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers) will visit Classic Park.
The home stand kicks off on Wednesday with a 100th birthday party for Emily Serian. Emily turns 100-years-young tomorrow and will be celebrating by throwing out a ceremonial first pitch. Captains fans will also have the opportunity to sing "Happy Birthday" to her while she is on the field during pre-game ceremonies.
Wednesday is also Feed Your Face Night where fans can purchase an all-you-can-eat food package for only $10 and enjoy unlimited hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn and chips throughout the game. Prior to the game the undefeated State Champion Kirtland Hornet Football team will be honored. Game time is 6:30 PM.
Friday's game is the first Fireworks Friday night presented by State Farm Insurance Agent John Sullivan and 92.3 FM, The Fan. Fans will be treated to the first of nine Friday post-game fireworks extravaganzas. Game time is 6:30 PM.
Thirsty Thursdays, presented by ESPN 850 WKNR, will feature a .25-cent beer Happy Hour for one hour before game time and half-price draft beer and fountain soda until 9 PM. Thursday will also be Date Night, presented by Fisher's Jewelers at Shoregate, which gives couples the opportunity to purchase two tickets to The Officer's Club Suite and two meal vouchers, a $56 value, for only $30. Game time is 6:30 PM.
Saturday's game has had the game time change to 4:00 PM. It originally was slated for 1:00 PM. The Captains Annual Science Expo will take place with the battle of the robobots. Sparks and metal shrapnel will fly from the bots in one on one battles of three minutes or less - awarding the last bot standing bragging rights as "Ëking of the ring.'
Sunday is Mothers Day and all moms in attendance will receive a flower courtesy of J.D. Ballentine Flowers and Gifts in Mentor. It's also Family Fun Sunday and will feature a pre-game player autograph session, expanded in-stadium entertainment and activities, an enhanced Kids' Zone area with new inflatables and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game. Game time is 1:00 PM.
The home stand continues on Monday with Buck Night, presented by PNC, featuring $1 Five Star Brand Hot Dogs, chips, French fries, popcorn, soda and beer. Also, fans receive a $1 discount on their tickets or $2 off their tickets if they use a PNC Bank debit or credit card. Game time is 6:30 PM.
The home stand concludes with a special 11:00 AM game on Tuesday and many of the schools participating in the Captains Reading Program will be in attendance.
