
Captains Pitchers Lead All Star Contingent

(Eastlake, OH) - The South Atlantic League has announced their mid season All Star teams and the Lake County Captains are very well represented on the Northern Division Team. The Captains Manager Aaron Holbert has been chosen to manage the club and Captains Pitching Coach Ruben Nieba, and Hitting Coach Jim Rickon will be on the coaching staff. Holbert is in his first year in the Indians organization and this is his first year as a manger. The All Star game is Tuesday June 17th in Greensboro, NC.
The Captains dominate the pitching staff by sending four pitchers, starters Ryan Miller, Kelvin De La Cruz and Ryan Morris as well as Captains closer Vinnie Pestano. Outfielder Roman Pena was the only position player chosen off the Captains roster.
Miller (7-0), a 21 year old left hander out of Cypress Texas, is second in the SAL with seven wins and leads the league in ERA at 1.20.
De La Cruz (4-2) is a 19 year old left hander from La Vega, DR who is second in the league with an ERA of 1.40.
Morris (6-1), a 20 year old left hander from Charlotte, is ninth in the league with a 2.30 ERA.
Pestano (1-0, 12 saves) is a 23 year old out of Anaheim, CA who is second in the SAL Northern Division with twelve saves.
Pena is a 21 year old out of Tijuana Mexico who is batting .310 with three home runs and a team leading thirty six RBI's.
