Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack has named Captain Garrett Wilson the Becker Shoes Attacker of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 23rd, 2011. The Elmvale native broke out of a slump in a big way on the weekend, notching two goals and two assists, including the overtime winner in a 4-3 victory over the red hot Windsor Spitfires.

Wilson, 19, had points in all three Attack games last week, picking up an assist in a 5-4 win over the Colts and another in a 6-2 loss to Sault Ste. Marie before scoring two yesterday against Windsor. Wilson's marker in the second period of yesterday's game was his 27th goal of the season. The Florida Panthers draft pick would add one more, the overtime winner, before the day was out.

Wilson's four point weekend gives him an even sixty on the year and his two goals put him eight back of his career high thirty six. The Attack continues their five game home stand this Wednesday when they host the Kitchener Rangers in an important Midwest Division match-up. The Attack is currently two points ahead of the Rangers for first place in the Midwest Division.
