
Taylor Beck Named AMJ Player of the Week

The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Taylor Beck is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 23rd.
Beck recorded five points, four goals and one assist, in three games over the weekend. The St. Catharines native was named second star of the game assisting on Sam Lofquist's 6th of the year and scoring twice in the Storm's 8-6 win over the Frontenacs on Friday night. Held off the score sheet Saturday in the Storm's 5-2 loss to Belleville, Beck was instrumental in his team's 4-3 win over the 67's on Sunday. Scoring twice, including the tying goal with 30 seconds left, the 19 year old was named the first star of the game.
With five points on the weekend, Beck leads the Storm and sits 7th in league scoring with 63 points. The Predators third round pick leads the Storm in goals scored with 29 and sits tied with teammate Michael Latta for the most assists with 34. Producing at well over a point per game, Beck has picked up at least one point in 11 of his last 13 games played. He is currently tied for second on the Storm in powerplay goals with 9.
Next up, the Storm hosts the Sarnia Sting at the Sleeman Centre on Friday night. Televised on Rogers Sportsnet, game time is 7:00 pm. On Saturday, the Storm travels to Sudbury to take on the Wolves before heading up to Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday to take on the Greyhounds for a 7:00 pm puck drop.
