Caps Host Omaha for Weekend Series

Madison Capitols News Release
The Capitols return home on Friday night following a three-game road trip to host the Omaha Lancers. The two teams will meet on both Friday and Saturday night at 7:05 for the only matchups between the two sides this season. Madison hosted the Lancers for a pair of games in February, which resulted in a series split.
Coming off of a five-point weekend, the Capitols are looking to continue climbing up the Eastern Conference standings. Madison heads into the weekend in a tie for third place in the conference with 16 points. Madison has games in hand on everyone in the conference near them in the standings including Youngstown who sits just a single point ahead of the Caps. Madison has a better point percentage than 13 of the 15 other teams in the league with only Dubuque and Fargo ahead of them entering the weekend.
For Madison, it's been a solid defensive effort so far this season as only Fargo has allowed less goals than the Capitols entering the weekend. A big reason as to why the Capitols have allowed as few goals as they have this season is because of the goaltending duo. Patriks Berzins and Carsen Musser have a combined .919 save percentage this season compared to the .855 percentage among Caps goalies last season.
On Friday, it's a Youth Hockey Bonanza presented by Pure Hockey. Wear a jersey of a local team to the game for a chance to win cool prizes from Pure Hockey. The Capitols are hosting the team's annual Military Appreciation Night in support of Badger Honor Flight on Saturday night. The night is presented by Alliant Power. Tickets for the weekend and all games can be found at tickets.madcapshockey.com.
