Sioux City Musketeers News Release
Sioux City, IA - The Sioux City Musketeers have announced a trade with the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Sioux City receives defenseman Owen Keefe and a 2024 Phase I 6th round draft pick in exchange for a 2024 Phase I 3rd round draft pick and a 2024 Phase II 3rd round draft pick.
Keefe was in his second season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and had accrued four points through eleven games all via assists.
Keefe played in 59 games for the Lumberjacks in the 2022-23 season and totaled 13 points on four goals and nine assists.
As a Boston University commit, he will one day face off against his own father in the Beanpot as his dad, Jerry Keefe, is the head coach of Northeastern University's men's hockey program.
This summer, the left handed shot, defenseman suited up for team USA in the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup and played under former Musketeer head coach, Luke Strand.
The Saugus Massachusetts native was ranked as a C-rated skater on the NHL Central Scouting's Preliminary Players to Watch List. A C-Rating indicates that scouts believe the player will be a 4th-5th round candidate in the upcoming 2024 NHL Draft.
