USHL Alums Garner National NCAA Monthly Awards

A pair of former USHL players have been recognized with national NCAA monthly awards for the month of October by the Hockey Commissioners Association.

Several others have picked up monthly awards from the conferences they play in.

Michigan forward Rutger McGroarty, who played in the USHL for USA Hockey NTDP from 2020-22, was named National Co-Player of the Month. McGroarty led the nation in scoring for the month of October. In eight games, he had a line of 5-10-15, leading Michigan to a 5-2-1 start. He had a point in seven of eight games.

Boston University forward Macklin Celebrini, who played in the USHL with the Chicago Steel in 2022-23, was named National Rookie of the Month. The17-year old freshman led the nation with eight goals and led all rookies with 11 points. He recorded at least two points in five of the six Terriers' games and scored a goal in all but one of those games.

A number of former USHL players also picked on league/conference Player of the Month honors for the month of October.
