July 16, 2015 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Madison Capitols News Release
Madison, WI - The Madison Capitols unveiled their 2015-16 USHL regular season schedule on Thursday.
Madison will begin its Clark Cup pursuit on the road against the nearby Dubuque Fighting Saints on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Capitols kick off the home portion of their schedule against the Green Bay Gamblers on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7:05 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum inside the Alliant Energy Center.
After playing five of their first six games away from Madison, the Capitols close out the month of October with a four-game homestand with matchups against Chicago (twice), Bloomington, and Omaha from Oct. 23-30.
In total, the Capitols' first half of the season will feature a combined 12 games against their closest rivals, the Gamblers and the Fighting Saints, with six contests against each club prior to New Year's Day.
For the second straight year, the Capitols' home-ice schedule will have no conflicts with University of Wisconsin football or Green Bay Packers home games. Madison will welcome 15 of the 16 USHL clubs to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in 2015-16, including the Fargo Force (Dec. 5-6), the lone squad that did not visit a year ago. The Tri-City Storm is the only team the Capitols will not face on home ice during the regular season.
Madison will get its first look at the defending Clark Cup champion Sioux Falls Stampede on Friday, March 11 at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
In total, the Capitols will host 13 Friday night contests, as well as 10 Saturday night games for a total of 23 Fridays and Saturdays. Like last season, the Capitols will designate special $1 beer nights throughout the season.
