Published on July 16, 2015 under United States Hockey League (USHL) News Release

Chicago, IL - The United States Hockey League announced today the 2015-16 schedule for its 17 member teams. In addition, the USHL announced the creation of five regional pre-season events in place of the 2015 Fall Classic. Lastly, the USHL announced that the Indiana Ice has been granted a year of dormancy to address facility issues in the Indianapolis area.

"With the Fall Classic format there were some advantages from a logistics and scouting standpoint," said USHL President and Commissioner Bob Fallen. "We are working with our corporate and league partners, as well as member clubs to explore options for 2016."

The pre-season regional events will take place in Green Bay, Waterloo, Lincoln, Pittsburgh and Madison. A complete pre-season regional event schedule with times and matchups will be released at a later date.

"We are extremely excited to bring an event like this to Lincoln for the first time," said Lincoln Stars General Manager and President of Hockey Operations Jon Hull. "We believe this is an excellent opportunity to showcase our growing brand to the people of Nebraska. The exposure that an event like this can generate, with representation from NHL and NCAA scouts to the fan support, is what makes our league second to none."
