
Capitols Host Bucs for Pucks N' Paws Day

Madison, WI-- The Madison Capitols (22-24-11) host their final Western Conference opponent on Saturday as they welcome the Des Moines Buccaneers (21-23-13) to the Alliant Energy Center.
Madison won the first matchup between the two teams back on March 13, knocking off the Bucs by a final score of 3-1.
The Capitols got two goals in the span of 1:35 in the first period to build up their lead, with Haralds Egle and Freddy Gerard tallying for Madison. Miguel Fidler would add his first goal as a Capitol early in the second period to to push Madison in front, 3-0.
Georgy Gorodetsky got Des Moines on the board, but the Bucs would draw no closer, as Darren Smith finished the evening with 34 saves for the victory in the Capitols' crease.
Madison chased Des Moines goaltender Ryland Pashovitz from the net in the second period, scoring three goals on 18 shots. Ryan Ruck came in and made 15 saves in relief for the Buccaneers.
Saturday is Pucks N' Paws day at the Alliant Energy Center with the new start time of 3:30 p.m. For this game only, dogs will be permitted inside the Alliant Energy Center beginning with the doors' opening at 2:30 p.m.
Following this matinee, Madison ends the season with two home games next Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
