Canucks Reassign McEneny and Fox to Comets

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher announced today that the Vancouver Canucks have reassigned defenseman Evan McEneny, and forward Dane Fox to the Utica Comets.

McEneny, 21, appeared in one game for the Comets this season. He appeared in one game with Kalamazoo, in which he recorded an assist. Last season he posted 45 points (9-36-45) and 71 penalty minutes in 68 games for the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL.

The 6'2?, 215-pound defenseman played in 240 OHL games over his five-year career. He registered 129 points (24-105-129) and 209 penalty minutes. A native of Hamilton, ON, McEneny went undrafted but was signed by the Vancouver Canucks on Sept. 13, 2012.

Fox, 22, has recorded an assist and eight penalty minutes in five games for the Kalamazoo Wings this season. Last year he finished second on the Wings with 30 goals during his rookie season last year. He finished with 45 points (30-15-45), good for third most on the team. He also recorded 110 penalty minutes in 70 games played.

The Chatham, ON native was named the Ontario Hockey League's Player of the Year following the 2013-14 season. He led the league in goals with 64 and finished second in points with 107. Fox played five seasons in the OHL and was signed by the Canucks as a free agent on Dec. 28, 2013.
