Canucks Announce Roster Moves

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club has recalled forward Alex Grenier from the Utica Comets. Hunter Shinkarurk has been reassigned.

Grenier, 24, has collected seven points (2-5-7) and 14 penalty minutes in 13 games with the Utica Comets this season. The 6'5", 200-pound forward is in his third season with Utica and currently ranks third on the team in scoring.

The Laval, Quebec native was selected by Vancouver in the third round, 90th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Shinkaruk, 21, has scored 10 goals (10-3-13) in 12 games with Utica this season. The American Hockey League's co-leader in goals made his National Hockey League debut for the Canucks against the Montreal Canadiens this past Monday. In 2014-15, his first professional season, Shinkaruk recorded 31 points (16-15-31) and 28 penalty minutes over 74 games played. The Calgary, Alberta native also scored six points (4-2-6) in 23 postseason games with Utica through the 2015 Calder Cup Finals.

Shinkaruk was selected by Vancouver in the first round, 24th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
