Wolves Fall to Admirals on the Road

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin - Chicago suffered its first regulation road loss with a 5-3 setback to Milwaukee Wednesday night in an Amtrak Rivalry game held at the Bradley Center. The season series is now tied at 1-1-0-0.
 Ty Rattie and Danny Kristo scored their team-leading seventh goals of the season and Justin Hodgman added two assists as the Wolves' point streak ended at nine games. The Admirals, meanwhile, extended their winning streak to seven games.
Milwaukee (9-4-1-0) opened a 3-0 lead by scoring three goals in a span of 5 minutes, 31 seconds during the second period. The first came off the power play just 1:42 into the period, as Frederick Gaudreau won a faceoff cleanly back to Viktor Arvidsson, who ripped a slapshot from the center blueline to extend his point streak to 10 games. Max Reinhart tucked in a loose rebound behind goaltender Jordan Binnington at 3:56, which was followed by Eric Robinson's goal from the left faceoff dot at 6:33.
Chicago (8-2-1-1) answered with three goals to tie the contest. Rattie started the comeback at the 7:14 mark, sliding backdoor and jamming in a pass across the crease from Peter Harrold. In the process, Rattie stretched his point streak to seven games. The Wolves then struck twice on the power play as Kristo knocked home a rebound to the right of Admirals goaltender Juuse Saros off Andre Benoit's slapshot at 10:46. Chicago tied it at 3-3 with 40 seconds left in the period when Chris Butler collected a cross-ice pass from Hodgman and lifted a shot into the upper corner of the net. It was Butler's first goal of the year.
Milwaukee's Gaudreau scored the game-winner at 11:28 of the third period, finishing a wrist shot from inside the right circle on the power play. The Admirals added an empty-net goal from Reinhart with 16 seconds left.
 Binnington (5-1-1) made 34 saves in losing to Milwaukee for the first time in nine career starts. Saros (7-2-0) finished with 34 saves to earn third star honors.
