
Canton Uses Second-Half Surge to Get Past Energy 93-84

DES MOINES, IA, Jan 13, 2013- The Canton Charge went on a 18-6 run to open the 3rd quarter as they defeated the Iowa Energy 93-84 Sunday afternoon in front of a season-high 5,274 fans in Des Moines.
After falling behind by four points at the end of one quarter, Canton took a 50-46 lead into the halftime break. The Charge, who were defeated by the Energy in Canton the night before, jumped all over the home team after the break as Micheal Eric scored six of his game high 23 points during the run.
After getting behind by as many as 16 points in the 2nd half, Iowa cut the lead to five points on a Morris Almond layup with 2:08 remaining. Canton responded by scoring the next four points of the game to secure the win.
Point guard Chris Wright again led Iowa with 16 points and 8 assists while Almond added 16 points. Paul Harris (12 points, 12 rebounds) added a double-double for the Energy. Iowa falls to 6-12 on the season with the loss.
Canton center Micheal Eric led the Charge with 23 points and 14 rebounds. The win moves Canton to 13-9 on the year.
