
D-Fenders Fall to Jam Despite Late Rally

EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders fell in the second game of a back-to-back versus the Bakersfield Jam, dropping a 95-84 contest at Toyota Sports Center on Saturday night.
Despite playing to a 15-15 tie eight minutes into the game, the D-Fenders trailed 27-20 after the first quarter and 48-34 at halftime. Dropping behind by as many as 25, the D-Fenders scored the last six points of the third quarter to enter the final frame down 75-56. The D-Fenders began the fourth quarter on a 22-8 run to pull within five points, but the late rally attempt came up short.
Playing their fourth game and second set of back-to-back contests this week, the D-Fenders (6-10) were led by Ronald Dupree, who tallied a game-high 24 points (15 points in fourth quarter) and Elijah Millsap, who finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and three steals. Additionally, Courtney Fortson registered 17 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, Jarrid Famous posted 10 points to go with nine rebounds, and Gary Flowers chipped in 10 points along with eight rebounds for the D-Fenders.
Bakersfield (13-7) was paced by James Nunnally (22 points, 7 rebounds), Jerel McNeal (15 points), Brian Butch (14 points, 18 rebounds) and Adam Koch (13 points, 10 rebounds). Phoenix Suns assignee Diante Garrett also contributed 11 points and four assists for the Jam.
