Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
Wichita, KS - Monday night's game between the Sioux Falls Canaries and Wichita Wingnuts was suspended after three innings when a severe thunderstorm interrupted the contest at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
The Canaries trailed 1-0 after three innings when the rain rolled in and halted play. Wichita got their run in the second inning. With two outs, Stephen Pearson doubled up the left-field line to get in scoring position. Michael Thompson followed with an RBI single to give Wichita a 1-0 lead.
The teams will resume Monday's game in the fourth inning at 5:05 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday's regularly scheduled game will be shortened to seven innings, and will follow the completion of Monday's nine-inning game.
