Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Canaries struck out 17 Fargo-Moorhead batters on Saturday but the RedHawks, powered by three homeruns, topped the Birds 7-1 at the Bird Cage.
Hunter Clanin smacked a solo homerun in the third inning to open the scoring but Fargo-Moorhead responded with three runs in the top of the fourth, one in the fifth, two in the sixth and one more in the ninth.
Mitchell Walters, Christian Johnson and Bret Barnett combined for the 17-strikeout performance on the mound while Mike Hart led the offense with a pair of hits.
The Canaries are now 5-3 and will finish the series with Fargo-Moorhead Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm.
