(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - Canadians CF Roemon Fields was the catalyst for a five-run bottom of the 8th inning as Vancouver came from behind to top Salem-Keizer 6-4 on Thursday night. The win proved beneficial on a number of fronts as division leading Spokane fell for the second straight night to bring the C's to within two games of top spot in the North.

Fields was the difference offensively for the Canadians going 4-for-5 with a bases clearing triple in the bottom of the 8th inning with the Canadians trailing by a pair of runs. His two stolen bases in the bottom of the 1st inning brought him to a league leading 18 through 21 Northwest League games.

LHP Jairo Labourt and Salem-Keizer LHP Andrew Leenhouts were both solid in starting assignments with Labourt going 4 1/3 innings allowing one unearned run while striking out five. Leenhouts went 6 2/3 innings striking out nine in the no-decision.

The Canadians committed four errors on the night which allowed the Volcanoes to build up a 4-1 lead heading to the bottom of the 8th inning, but the combination of RHP Cameron McVey (2/3IP) and LHP Steven Neff (1/3IP) struggled as Vancouver would send nine hitters to the plate scoring five runs including Fields bases clearing triple that had him come home on an errant throw that gave the C's a 6-4 lead.

With the Volcanoes batting in the top of the 9th, tempers flared with both RHP Brett Barber and Canadians manager John Schneider getting ejected shortly after Barber hit LF Geno Escalante to lead off the inning. Home plate umpire Matt Snodgrass felt that the pitch was retribution for Canadians 2B Tim Locastro who had been hit three times in the series finale and six times over the course of the series. RHP Kamikane Usui came into pitch to the remaining three hitters and retired them in order for the victory.
