(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC)) - A three-run bottom of the 2nd inning was enough for the Vancouver Canadians to take their second straight game from the Eugene Emeralds out at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium on Friday afternoon. The C's (10-5) would pound out 10 hits en route to a 9-2 victory over their West Division rivals.
RF Nick Baligod bumped his season average to .268 after going 2-for-5 on Friday with a double, while CF Ian Parmley picked up a pair of RBI for the Canadians managing a 2-for-5 day at the plate with a double. 1B Jordan Leyland now has hits in three of his past five games going 2-for-4 in the lopsided victory.
The story on the mound once again was Vancouver RHP Javier Avendano (2-0 0.00) who went six scoreless innings to pick up his second straight victory limiting the Eugene offense to just three hits on Friday. RHP Kyle Anderson made his professional debut for the C's going 1 1/3 innings allowing a pair of runs while walking three. RHP Arik Sikula pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings for the Canadians to help secure the 9-2 win.
