Newark 9, Pittsfield 3

Newark started strong with a four-run first inning, and topped Pittsfield 9-3 in Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. Left fielder Brandon Watson scored the first run for Newark when right fielder Danny Santiesteban was walked with the bases loaded, and center fielder Pat Biserta followed with a three-RBI double to put the Bears ahead 4-1. The Bears scored three more runs in the bottom of the second inning, and one in each of the fifth and sixth. Pittsfield scored one run in each of the first, second and third innings, and four different Colonials had three hits in the game. Santiesteban was the only Bear to register multiple hits in the game, and the right fielder led Newark with two hits, two runs and two RBI in three at-bats. Chris Vasami earned his first win of the season, allowing 10 hits, three runs and striking out four in 5.1 innings pitched.

New York 2, Brockton 1

Second baseman Alex Sumner hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning, driving in left fielder Kyle Obal and helping the Federals edge Brockton 2-1 in the third game of a four-game series. Brockton got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second inning when catcher Chris Grossman batted in third baseman Jorge Jimenez. New York tied the score in the top of the fifth with a Jacob Fabry home run before scoring the winning run three frames later. No Federal had multiple hits in the game, and Fabry led New York with one hit, one run and one RBI in three at-bats. First baseman Trey Hernandez led Brockton with two hits in four at-bats. Will Hassett earned his second win of the season, allowing five hits, one run and striking out five in seven innings pitched.

Quebec 8, New Jersey 3

Quebec scored four runs in the top of the second inning en route to an 8-3 win against New Jersey at Yogi Berra Stadium. Robert Wagner, Jeff Helps and Goefrey Tomlinson combined for four RBI in the second inning to give the Capitales a 4-0 lead, and Wagner batted in one more run in the next inning. New Jersey scored one run in the eighth and two in the ninth, but it was too little, too late for the Jackals. Catcher Myron Leslie led New Jersey with two hits, one run and two RBI in four at-bats. Four different Capitales recorded multiple hits in the game, and Wagner led Quebec with three hits, two runs and four RBI in five at-bats. John Mariotti earned his second win of the season, allowing five hits, one run and striking out five in eight innings pitched.

Worcester 11, Rockland 4

Worcester led Rockland 7-0 after three innings on its way to an 11-4 victory against the Boulders. First baseman Chris Colabello hit a three-run homer in the top of the first to start off scoring for the Tornadoes, and designated hitter Nick Salotti followed moments later with a solo home run. The Tornadoes were back at it again in the bottom of the third inning when Salotti hit his second home run of the game. Salotti had two hits, three runs and four RBI in five at-bats, and Colabello chipped in four hits, one run and three RBI. Rockland scored all four of its runs in the top of the fourth inning when right fielder Tommy Giles hit a three-run homer and catcher Jason Candelier drove in one more. Left fielder Vic Buttler had three hits and one run in four at-bats to lead the Boulders. Kevin Cooper earned his second win of the season, allowing seven hits, four runs and striking out seven in six innings pitched.
