It took extra innings, but the Ottawa Rapidz completed their come-from-behind win thanks to a run in the bottom of the 10th inning, handing first-half champion Quebec its first loss of the second half. Each starter pitched very well, but neither factored in the decision. Quebec starter Kevin Beavers allowed one run on seven hits through 7 2/3 innings while his counterpart, Mike Kusiewicz allowed one run on six hits through seven. Rapidz reliever Reid Price picked up his first win of the season after tossing a perfect ninth. Ottawa LF Jereme Milons led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 and scoring both Rapidz runs.

Atlantic City 9, New Jersey 4

The Atlantic City Surf got off on the right foot with a win in the first game of the second half, behind an efficient start by starting pitcher Brian Rodaway. Rodaway allowed four runs, three earned, on eight hits while striking out three in six innings of work to run his record to 5-4 on the year. Surf DH Clyde Williams led the way at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Atlantic City 3B Gil Zayas also had a good game. He was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and a pair of RBI.

Sussex 6, Nashua 4

After allowing three runs in the first inning, Sussex starting pitcher Matt Salvato settled down, and the Skyhawks' offense settled in, earning their first win of the second half. Salvato would allow just one more run, in the third, for a total of four on nine hits in seven innings to run his record to 5-2 on the season. Skyhawks 1B Matthew Weston led the way at the plate, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI. Sussex closer Matt Petrusek fanned three and was perfect through two innings to earn his 11th save this year.

Worcester 11, Brockton 10

HR: WT-Francisco Caraballo (10), Chris Colabello (8); BR-Phillip Cuadrado (4), Dominic Ramos (2)

Worcester LF Francisco Caraballo fell a single shy of the cycle as he led the Tornadoes to a home win. Caraballo finished the game 3-for-5 with a homer, three runs scored and five RBI to lead the way for the Tornadoes. Teammate Chris Colabello also had a nice game, going 3-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored. Worcester starting pitcher Junior Guerrero allowed seven runs on eight hits, but hung on to pick up the win, running his record to 4-3 on the season. Worcester closer John Birtwell did not allow a run in the ninth, earning him his eighth save.
