The Sussex Skyhawks ran their win streak to seven games behind a solid offensive performance and good pitching from the bullpen. The Skyhawks took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning then broke the game open for good with six runs in the third inning to extend that lead to 7-0. Sussex reliever Rich Lawyer took over with one out in the fifth inning and allowed just two hits through two innings to pick up the win. Skyhawks closer Matt Petrusek anchored the relief effort by tossing a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 18th save. Sussex C Yohanny Valera led the way offensively. He was 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs scored.

Quebec 7, Brockton 6

The Quebec Capitales were able to extend their lead atop the second half standings to two games thanks to a come-from-behind win at home. Trailing 6-2 in entering the bottom of the seventh inning, the Capitales trimmed the lead to 6-5 with three runs in the frame. An inning later, they tied the score 6-6 and won it in the ninth inning when RF Michael Goss scored on a single by DH Eddie Lantigua. Quebec reliver Jason Schutt tossed a scoreless ninth to pick up his third win of the season. Goss was 1-for-4 in the game with a pair of RBI in addition to the game-winning run.

New Jersey 7, Nashua 3

The bats in the New Jersey Jackals' lineup provided plenty of power in this one as the three through five hitters each homered. The trio of 1B Juan Tejada, DH Luke Allen and C Matt Lauderdale combined to go 6-for-14 with three runs scored and six RBI to easily lead New Jersey to victory on the road. Jackals starting pitcher Isaac Pavlik took full advantage of the run support. He allowed just five hits while striking out five in six shutout innings to notch the win and run his mark to 8-4 on the year.

Worcester 4, Atlantic City 2

The Worcester offense scored once in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead, and that would be all that the Tornadoes would need en route to the win. Worcester starting pitcher Ryan Lobban was on his game, allowing one run on six hits while striking out four and walking none in six innings of work to notch the win. With the victory, Lobban runs his mark to 3-1 on the season. Tornadoes 1B Chris Colabello led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and a pair of RBI. Worcester closer John Birtwell came on in the eighth to record a four-out save, his 11th save of the season.
