
Campbell Named Player of the Week

Rome, GA - Rome Braves third baseman Eric Campbell has been named the BC Powder South Atlantic League Batter of the Week for August 7-13. It is the second time in 2006 Campbell has earned this honor. During this stretch, Campbell hit .375 with one home run and five RBI. The home run was his 17th of the season breaking the Rome Braves record of 16 set in 2004. On August 12th in Rome's 3-2 win over Augusta, Eric went four for five with a double, a home run, an RBI, and two runs scored. He is currently fourth in the league in home runs with 17 and fifth in slugging percentage at .510. Campbell leads the team with a batting average of.298.
