Inter Miami CF News Release
Inter Miami CF goalkeeper Drake Callender has been named to the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi for Week 24 of the regular season. Callender's inclusion in the Team of the Week comes after two strong performances in the team's longest road trip of the season.
Callender first played a vital role in securing three points on the road against the San Jose Earthquakes, where he was an academy player from 2013 to 2016, on Aug.3; the shot-stopper made five crucial saves and maintained a clean sheet for the Herons in the first matchup in club history between the sides. The three-time Team of the Week honoree followed with another dynamic performance in a drawn game against CF Montréal at Stade Saputo on Aug. 6; Callender finished the night with three saves, including one of which denied Montréal the opportunity to extend their lead in the second half.
Callender joins defender Damion Lowe as the Inter Miami CF players to be featured in the Team of the Week three times this season. Additionally, Inter Miami has had a player or coach represented in the Team of the Week in 12 different weeks of the 2022 MLS regular season.
