Bandits improve to .500 with home win

Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo Bandits return to .500 following a 13-8 victory over the visiting Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night at KeyBank Center.

The Bandits, who built quarter leads of 5-3, 7-4 and 9-6, received five-point efforts from Callum Crawford (4g, 1a), Jordan Durston (3g, 2a) and Dhane Smith (2g, 3a). Smith now tops the NLL with 23 points in four games.

For Calgary, team-leading scorer Curtis Dickson recorded four goals while alternate captain Dane Dobbie followed with a pair of markers and one helper. Dobbie, with 676 career points, is closing in on the franchise's all-time scoring record of 684 points, set by former Roughneck Jeff Shattler.

Going the distance in the win for Buffalo was Alex Buque, finishing the night with 44 stops. Frank Scigliano stood between the Calgary pipes for just over 55 minutes of play and turned aside 38 of the 50 shots he faced.

Calgary (1-3) now returns to the Scotiabank Saddledome to face the defending NLL champion Georgia Swarm (1-3) on Saturday, Jan. 13. It is a 7:00 p.m. face-off for a Pigskin Party presented by TELUS. Fans are encouraged to head to the Rough House early for a $5 Happy Hour featuring food and beverage specials on the concourse from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
