Calgary, AB - Dorrin Luding made 29 saves to record his first-career Western Hockey League shutout backstopping the Everett Silvertips to a 1-0 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Defenceman Kevin Davis recorded the lone goal for Everett when his point shot, 3:03 into the third period, was deflected and beat a screened Nick Schneider. The Hitmen goaltender finished with 32 saves and was named the third star.

All four of Calgary's losses this season have now been by a single goal.

The Hitmen, 1-3-1-0, return to action on Sunday, Oct. 8, when the Brandon Wheat Kings visit the Scotiabank Saddledome for a 4:00 p.m. puck drop. The home contest kicks off Sunday Funday presented by Pocky and will feature face painters, concourse activities and a post-game family skate, all complimentary with a game ticket. Sunday Funday pricing sees kids 12 and under receive $8.99 admission (plus fees).

Sunday is also highlighted by a Thanksgiving $10 Toque Toss. Fans attending can purchase an adult ticket for the reduced price of $10 (excludes fees) and are encouraged to bring toques, scarves or gloves to toss on the ice during the first intermission for Project Warmth Society of Alberta, a local registered charity that provides assistance to the homeless and underprivileged. Prior to puck drop, fans can enjoy a full turkey dinner in the Chrysler Club Restaurant for the special price of $12.99 (plus tax). Reservations are encouraged by calling 403-571-9733.
