October 8, 2017 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Lethbridge, AB - The Prince Albert Raiders (2-3-0-0) had their chances on Friday night, but goaltender Stuart Skinner held them at bay.

Skinner stopped 35 shots as the Raiders fell 4-1 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes (3-2-0-0) on Friday night at the Enmax Centre.

The Hurricanes got on the board 5:02 into the first period. Calen Addison's shot got through Raiders goaltender Curtis Meger with four seconds remaining in five-on-three power play for the home team.

In the second, Tanner Nagel was left alone in the slot and made no mistake to put Lethbridge up 2-0. The Raiders levelled the score midway through the period. Curtis Miske fed Sean Montgomery from behind the net, who snapped it past Skinner from the slot to cut it to a 2-1 game. Devon Skoleski picked up the secondary assist on the goal, extending his point streak to four games.

The Raiders continued to press Skinner and the Hurricanes, but it was Lethbridge that found the next goal. Jayden Davis squeaked his shot through Meger with 6:16 to play to give the Hurricanes a 3-1 advantage. Giorgio Estephan added an empty-net marker with 1:33 to play.

Meger made 25 saves in the losing effort while earning second-star honours on the evening.

The Raiders are back in action tomorrow night when they take on the Tigers in Medicine Hat at the Canalta Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

The next Raiders' home game is on Friday, October 13 against the Memorial Cup host Regina Pats. Puck drop is 7 p.m. Tickets are available at raiderhockey.com. Five dollars from every adult ticket purchased online for that game and any other October home game will be donated to Serendipity Bra Boutique's fundraising efforts in support of the Prince Albert Cancer Society.
