Lethbridge, AB - Ryan Vandervlis broke a 4-4 third period tie scoring with 6:44 remaining to lift the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 5-4 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at the ENMAX Centre.

Egor Zudilov netted a pair of goals for the Hurricanes with Jordy Bellerive and Calen Addison adding singles. Lethbridge is now 2-0 against Calgary this season.

Matteo Gennaro tallied two goals in a losing cause for the Hitmen with Vladislav Yeryomenko and Andrei Grishakov rounding out the scoring. Jake Bean and Mark Kastelic both chipped in a pair of assists.

Lethbridge outshot the Hitmen 37-34.

The Hitmen return home to host the defending WHL champion Seattle Thunderbirds tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 28, in a 7:00 p.m. puck drop at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Saturday's contest is WHL Suits Up with Don Cherry to Promote Organ Donation - Presented by RE/MAX. The Cherry family knows firsthand about organ donation. Don's son, Tim, received a kidney transplant from daughter, Cindy, while Don was coaching the Boston Bruins.

The Hitmen will wear specially-designed Don Cherry-themed jerseys and socks on Saturday. The limited edition uniforms display Hitmen masks on both black socks and a black jersey designed as a Don Cherry sports jacket. A high white collar, red tie, pocket square, custom cuffs featuring Don Cherry's initials with a Canadian maple leaf and a Kidney Foundation of Canada shoulder patch complete the one-of-a-kind look. When doors open at 6:00 p.m. the first 900 fans will receive a special-edition Don Cherry bobblehead while 2,500 limited-edition Don Cherry trading cards, courtesy of Upper Deck, will also be handed out upon entry. There will be a Kidney Foundation Booth, located on the concourse behind section 227, featuring a life-size Don Cherry cardboard cut-out for photo opportunities.
