Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen opened a four game home stand Tuesday night with a 4-3 win over the Regina Pats.

Tyler Fiddler's shorthanded goal early in the third period gave the Hitmen a 4-2 lead and proved to be the game winner.

The Hitmen had a great start as Chase Schaber and Ian Schultz each had a goal and an assist helping Calgary built a 3-1 first period lead.

Kyle Aschim also scored for Calgary while Matt Strueby had both goals for the Pats.

Final shots were 25-25.

Calgary at 27-10-1-1 remains tied with Tri-City for number one overall in the WHL Standings as the Americans blanked Everett 1-0.

The Hitmen are now idle until Sunday, January 3rd when they host the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Game time is 5:00 p.m. at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

Sunday is the 10th Annual Dodge Skate with the Hitmen. Following the game fans can take to the ice to skate with the entire team. Admission is FREE with your game ticket. Parents are reminded children under 12 must wear a helmet. Pucks, sticks, shoes, strollers and chairs are NOT allowed on the ice.
