FORT MYERS, Fla. - Trey Cabbage homered and knocked in two, and Lachlan Wells turned in a strong outing in his first start since 2017, but the Fort Myers Miracle dropped a 7-4 contest to the Bradenton Marauders on Sunday afternoon at Hammond Stadium.

The Miracle have now been swept in consecutive series and have dropped a season-high six straight games.

Cabbage and Andrew Bechtold each knocked in runs in the second inning to give the Miracle an early 2-0 lead.

In the fourth, Bradenton erased the two-run deficit with a three-run frame. Rodolfo Castro doubled in a run before Wells balked in a second run. Later in the inning, Raul Hernandez gave Bradenton their first lead with a sacrifice fly.

Cabbage tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run off the batter's eye in center field. The blast was Cabbage's third home run with the Miracle. He hit six home runs in 18 games with Low-A Cedar Rapids.

The Marauders broke the tie in the eighth. Lolo Sanchez reached on a strikeout, wild pitch. Following a double and an intentional walk, Dylan Busby smacked a bases loaded, two-run single to give Bradenton a 5-3 advantage.

Castro made it 7-3 in favor of the visitors with a two-run triple in the ninth. The Bradenton second baseman drove in three.

Fort Myers loaded the bases with no one out in the bottom of the ninth but managed just one run on a Royce Lewis sacrifice fly. Trevor Larnach bounced into a game-ending double play with runners at the corners and one out.

Wells, in his first start since September 2, 2017, took a no-decision. He yielded three runs in five innings. The Australian left-hander missed all of last season due to Tommy John surgery.

Melvi Acosta suffered the loss in relief. Acosta (4-3) allowed two runs in three innings. Eight of the right-hander's nine outs were recorded via the strikeout.

The Miracle open a three-game series on Monday night in Clearwater against the Threshers, the Class-A Advanced affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. First pitch is 7:00 p.m.
