
Byrd Sold to Brewers, RedHawks Sign Seaman

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have sold the contract of RHP Darren Byrd to the Milwaukee Brewers organization and signed RHP Tyler Seaman, the Northern League club announced. Byrd left the team Saturday and has joined the Brevard County Manatees, the Brewers affiliate in the Florida State League (High-A).
Byrd, 23, was 0-2 with a 4.58 ERA in four starts with Fargo-Moorhead this season. He has pitched 19.2 innings and allowed 14 runs (ten earned) on 20 hits. Byrd struck out 18 batters, walked ten and opponents hit .256 against him.
Seaman, 22, comes to the RedHawks after competing his college career at Mississippi College this spring. In 2010, he was 10-1 with a 3.19 ERA in 16 games, all starts. Seaman pitched 101.2 innings and allowed 56 runs (36 earned) on 101 hits. He struck out 85 batters, walked 30 and help opponents to a .254 batting average against him.
