HOME SICK: The Ice is 2-1-0 so far on its longest road trip of the season with seven games remaining on the trip that spans over a 22-day period. This week's docket features games against Wichita and Tulsa. The Ice has enjoyed success against these two conference foes, as the team is 4-2-0 this year against Tulsa and 5-1-0 against Wichita.

PLAYOFF HUNT: The playoff picture remains tight as the Ice has a four-point lead over Wichita for the final Northern Conference playoff spot and trails Memphis by just one point for the third seed in the conference with two games in hand with the RiverKings.

L.A. GUNS: Forward Joe Guenther awoke from a goal-scoring slumber as the second-year forward led the Ice in its first leg of the road trip with four points (3G, A) in the three road contests. He compiled his third multiple goal game of the year in Saturday's win at Fort Worth and now has 17 goals on the season.

FIRING SQUAD: Ice defensemen Bernie John and Mario Doyon are currently the top-scoring defensive duo in all of pro hockey with a combined total of 109 points (33G, 76A)...In addition, John's 62 points and Doyon's 19 goals lead all defensemen in pro hockey...John also has points in eight of his last nine games (3G, 8A)... Jim Shepherd is two assists shy of 200 for his pro career...Jason Baird has seven points (3G, 4A) in his last five games...Dave Gilmore has seven points (G, 6A) in his last five games...Jared Dumba has seven points (4G, 3A) in his last six games...Brent Zelenewich has won his last three starts between the pipes.

TEAM TALLIES: Indy has killed off 34 of its last 35 opponents' power play attempts...The Ice remains the second best power-play unit in the league overall (57-273, 20.9%)...The Ice is third in the CHL in goals scored per game (3.30) and shots taken per game (34.28)... The Ice is tied with Laredo for the most first period goals scored in the CHL this season (68)...The Ice and Wichita are tied for most one-goal games this year (32) and Indy has a record of 18-12-2 in those one-goal affairs.

ICE KICKS OFF ROAD TRIP WITH 3-2 WIN
* Chad McIver scored the game-winning goal with two minutes left and goaltender Brent Zelenewich made 38 saves in the victory over the Mudbugs.

ICE DEFEATS FORT WORTH FOR ANOTHER 3-2 TRIUMPH
* Joe Guenther scored two goals and netminder Jeff Sanger made 23 saves to lead the Ice to a 3-2 victory over the Fort Worth Brahmas.

ICE RUNS OUT OF GAS IN 6-1 LOSS TO LUBBOCK
* Jan Melichercik tallied two goals and an assist and former Ice forward Russ Guzior had a goal and an assist to lead Lubbock to a 6-1 win over Indy...Joe Guenther tallied the lone Ice goal.
