Burn Announces Remainder Of Preseason Matches For 2004

DALLAS – The Dallas Burn will face the University of Memphis in a scrimmage this Saturday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the University of Texas @ Dallas. The match, which is free to the public, was originally scheduled for February but was cancelled due to the snowstorm.

The Burn also has announced the remainder of matches scheduled for the rest of the month. On Friday, March 19, the team will travel to Virginia Beach to face the A-League Mariners at 6:30 p.m. (CT). The game will feature a matchup of the two top scorers in Major League Soccer history. Roy Lassiter of the Mariners is currently the all-time leading goal scorer in league history with 88 goals. Burn forward Jason Kreis is just two goals back of tying Lassiter and will look to break the record in 2004.

The Burn will face SMU on Monday, March 22 at 5:00 p.m. at the SMU soccer field and Incarnate Word on Monday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Blue Sky Sports Center in The Colony. Finally, in their last match before the start of the regular season, the team will travel to Jackson, Mississippi to face the Chicago Fire on Saturday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Following their league-opening match vs. the Colorado Rapids on April 3 at the Cotton Bowl, the Burn will travel to Oklahoma City to face the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. on the campus of Oklahoma City University.
