
Bulls Weekend Preview at Topeka

THE SERIES: It's the 7th and 8th meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Topeka Road Runners. The two teams play one another again in early March in the Texas Panhandle, and then in Kansas two weeks later for the final time during the regular season.
Forward Mike Davis has one goal and seven assists for eight points for the Bulls in the season series, while Tyler Gernhofer and Cody Gylling each had seven points. Gernhofer has four goals, while Gylling, and Carter Penzien each have three. Goaltender Collin Delia has collected three wins in the series and has allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of hockey.
Forwards Tyler Poulsen and Sly Sutter have a combined five points for the RoadRunners.
TOUGH TIMES FOR BOTH TEAMS: It's been a tough stretch lately for both the Amarillo Bulls and the Topeka RoadRunners. For the first time in team history, the Bulls have lost three in a row without collecting at least one point in an overtime or shootout loss. Amarillo is 2-3-0 in their last five games. The RoadRunners are also 2-3-0 in their last five with just four goals scored in the three setbacks.
SOUTH DIVISION UPDATE: The Amarillo Bulls have a five-point lead over the second place Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees and six-points ahead of the third place Topeka RoadRunners and Wichita Falls Wildcats. In the South this weekend, the Wildcats visit the Corpus Christi IceRays, while the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees meet the Lone Star Brahmas.
UP NEXT FOR THE BULLS AT HOME: Next Friday and Saturday, the Amarillo Bulls return home to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center when they host the Wichita Falls Wildcats at 7 pm. The Saturday game is the annual Teddy Bear Toss Night in support of Toys For Tots. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used Teddy Bears or Stuffed Animals to the games and when the Bulls score their first goal, throw the toys onto the ice to support Toys For Tots.
BULLS ALUMNI NEWS: It's a quiet weekend for Bulls Alumni in NCAA Action. Lake Superior State with Matt Johnson take on the University of Alaska-Anchorage in the state of Alaska. In Division III play, the Milwaukee School of Engineering hosts Wisconsin-Eau Claire, while Lawrence takes on Wisconsin-Stevens Point. St. John's entertains St. Scholastica.
