
Aberdeen's Comeback Falls Short, Wenatchee Wins 4-2

The Wenatchee Wild, who led by three goals at one point, survived a comeback attempt by Wenatchee and clinched a 4-2 victory.
The Wild led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Wenatchee's Nicholas Rivera's scored at 17:43 in the first period to put the Wild up 3-0.
Wenatchee kept the Aberdeen Wings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Henry Dill made 29 saves on 33 shots.
The Wild were helped by Tanner Barnes, who registered two goals. Barnes scored the first of his two goals at 15:31 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Wenatchee. Barnes' next tally made the score 4-2 Wenatchee with 16:12 left in the third period. Matthew Nuttle provided the assist. Wenatchee also got points from Rivera, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Gadel Gumerov also scored for Wenatchee. In addition, Wenatchee received assists from Mike Coyne and Chris Jones, who contributed one a piece.
Aberdeen put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Wenatchee to score on any of its three power plays. The Wings relied on a core group of players for most of their offense, as Kyle Haak, TJ Roo and Jordan Heller took 19 of the team's 31 shots.
More assists for Aberdeen came via Matt Brettingen, who had one.
Gustaf Johansson rejected 29 shots on goal for the Wild. Wenatchee incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Aberdeen incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
