
Bulls Win over Odessa

AMARILLO,Tx - The Amarillo Bulls picked up their tenth win of the season with a 2-to-1 shootout victory against the Odessa Jackalopes Friday night.
The Bulls and Jackalopes faced each other for the first time since Nov.28th. The Bulls would take 16 shots on goal in the first period and get big stops from their goalie Andrew Takacs to keep the game scoreless after 20 minutes.
The Bulls would quickly take the lead just 36 seconds into the second period. Sean Vlasich forced a turnover in front of the Odessa net and passed to Harrison Scott who would score his fourth goal of the season. Amarillo would hold a 1 goal lead for most of the second period.
Odessa would tie the game at the 17:28 mark of the second period when Gabe Bennett snuck a shot past Takacs on the power play. The score would remain tied going into the third period.
Amarillo would throw everything at Odessa goalie Connor Hasley in the third period. The Bulls would get 18 shots on Hasley in the third period but could not get the go ahead goal.
The game would go into overtime after both Hasley and Takacs surrendered only one goal through 60 minutes of play. Both teams got two shots in overtime but the game moved to a decisive shootout.
Alternate captain Ty Black would score on his shootout attempt to give the Bulls a lead in the shootout. Takacs would make all three saves and secure a 2-to-1 shootout victory over Odessa.
The Bulls would end up with 47 total shots on Hasley.ÃÂ Takacs earned his second win for the Bulls making 31 saves on 32 shots faced. Both teams will face-off tomorrow at 7:05 p.m.
