Bulls Score Late, Win 8-2 At Louisville

(Louisville, KY) Fernando Perez's capped the first of three straight two-run rallies for Durham in the seventh inning, as the Bulls won 8-2 on Friday night at Louisville.

After a pair of errors gave Durham a 3-2 lead in the seventh, talented lefty starter Aroldis Chapman (5-5) was replaced by Jared Burton. After Omar Luna flew out to left, a wild pitch advanced Jose Lobaton to second, and Perez singled threw the middle for a 4-2 advantage.

Durham would continue to tack on runs against the Louisville bullpen, taking advantage of four walks. Chris Richard had a two-out two-run single in the eight for a 6-2 advantage. Dan Johnson added a two-out two-run single in the ninth for an 8-2 lead.

That was enough for the Bulls. After Richard De Los Santos (6-3) held Louisville in check over the first six innings, allowing a pair of runs, RJ Swindle followed with two one-hit innings, and Winston Abreu finished in the ninth.

Durham (40-27) collected eight hits and eight walks as every Bulls reached base and eight different players scored. The Bulls, 1-2 on a rain-shortened nine-game road trip, lead Gwinnett by nine games in the South Division pending the result of game two of the Braves' doubleheader against Syracuse.
