(Pawtucket, RI) Elliot Johnson scored twice and drove in two with a double and a homer, but Durham fell 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon to Pawtucket in the bottom of the ninth.

Johnson doubled in the first, and scored on a Chris Richard sac fly for a 1-0 advantage. His two-run homer in the third made it 3-1 Durham.

However, Pawtucket rallied for two in the fourth against Darin Downs, and then after Durham took the lead in the fifth on a Desmond Jennings groundout, answered on a controversial Josh Reddick homer in the bottom of the fifth to tie the score at four. Reddick's ball originally was called a double and then reversed.

Durham did not get another runner past second base the rest of the way, and Pawtucket rallied in the ninth against R.J. Swindle (1-3), the fifth Durham pitcher. Gil Velasquez doubled past Justin Ruggiano, and after Jacoby Ellsbury (3-for-5) lined to first, Niuman Romero singled to left, putting runners at the corners. Josh Reddick popped out, but former NC State standout lined a 3-2 pitch to right-center off Swindle to end the game.

Durham 68-42, still has the IL's best record. Durham finished its road trip at 6-2, and split the four-game series with Pawtucket, dropping the final two games after the team's 11-game win streak was snapped.

The Bulls begin a home stand on Thursday against Indianapolis. RHP Richard De Los Santos will be on the mound in a 7:05 start.
